2008 Smart Fortwo
After years of speculation and rumor, Daimler-Chrysler -- parent company of Smart as well as Mercedes and Chrysler -- officially launched the Smart in the US at the 2007 Detroit auto show. Daimler-Chrysler says the Fortwo will be the only model sold, but they did not announce which body styles, trim levels, etc. we'll be getting. Best guess is we'll see the coupe and the convertible, though probably not the diesel-engine version currently sold in Canada. Starting prices will likely be under $15,000.
